AI Visibility for HVAC

Does AI recommend your HVAC business, or your competitor?

When a homeowner asks ChatGPT, Google AI, or Perplexity who to call for heating or air conditioning, the assistant names one or two contractors. If it is not naming yours, you are invisible for that job, no matter how well your site ranks on Google. Making HVAC contractors the business AI recommends is the one thing we do.

What is AI visibility for HVAC?

AI visibility for HVAC is whether the AI answer engines (ChatGPT, Google AI Overviews, Perplexity, Gemini, and others) name and recommend your heating and cooling business when a customer asks them who to hire. It is not the same as Google rankings. A contractor can sit on page one of Google and still be completely absent when that same customer asks an AI assistant "who is the best HVAC company near me." If you are looking for an AI visibility agency for HVAC, that is what we are, with one difference: it is the only thing we do. SMPL is the AI Visibility Company. We make sure the answer engines can find your HVAC business, trust it, and recommend it, and we keep it there.

Why AI leaves most HVAC contractors out of the answer

The answer engines do not work the way Google does. They pull from a small set of sources they can read, trust, and reconcile, then they name one or two businesses. Most HVAC contractors lose on the inputs, not the work:

  • Your business details do not match across the web. The name, address, and phone on your site, your Google profile, your Facebook, and the contractor directories disagree. The engines read that as several different businesses and trust none of them.
  • Your site does not answer the question directly. The engines look for your services, your service area, the brands you handle, financing, emergency and after-hours availability, and pricing, stated plainly. If a homeowner has to call to find out what you do, an AI cannot recommend it either.
  • The structure the engines read is missing. No schema, no clean business entity, thin or buried service pages. The engine cannot tell what you are or where you work.
  • Your proof is not where the engines look. Reviews, licensing, and real credentials sit on pages the engine never reconciles back to you.

None of this is about being a good contractor. It is about whether the machine that now answers the question can actually see you.

Most local service businesses are already invisible to AI

We benchmark this. In the first local-service vertical we scanned, pest control, we ran 32 businesses in one Southwest Riverside County market through two leading answer engines, ChatGPT and Perplexity, in June 2026. 81% got zero citations from any engine, and 62% were never named at all. HVAC is the same kind of local, high-intent, service-area business, and we see the same pattern: when the search moves to AI, most contractors who are excellent at the actual work fall out of the answer. (First-party benchmark. One vertical, one region, one point in time.)

How we make your HVAC business the answer

One thing we do, and we do it completely.

  1. We scan. We ask every major AI engine the questions your customers actually ask, best HVAC company near me, AC repair in your city, who to call when a furnace quits, and we record whether you show up and who shows up instead.
  2. We diagnose. We find why the contractors winning the answer are winning it. It is usually concrete: they answer the real questions, they show their proof, and their business details are consistent everywhere the engine looks.
  3. We fix it. We make the honest changes on your own site and your listings so the engines can find you, trust you, and recommend you. In your voice, nothing invented.
  4. We prove it. We re-scan every month and show you the movement, in plain numbers, with no guaranteed-ranking promises we cannot honestly make.

We have already done this in another service trade

Beecasso is a bee removal company, a 20-year local business the AI engines never named. Six weeks after we rebuilt the structure underneath it, the engines recommend it in six of seven in its strongest market, up from zero. Bee removal is not HVAC, and that is the point: the mechanism that moves an answer engine is the same across local service work. The proof that it works is real. HVAC is where we are pointing it now.

What being the answer is worth to an HVAC business

HVAC is a high-ticket trade. A single system replacement or install is a large job, so it usually takes only one or a few new jobs a month to more than cover the work. We track what we generate with call and click tracking, so you see the jobs that came from being in the answer, not a vanity number. We do not promise a specific placement or a guaranteed result, because no honest company can. We show you the movement and what it produced.
